- Emeka OgbohNGA
Become part of Nigerian-born artist and migrant Emeka’s ongoing global conversation on belonging.
This work revolves around a collaborative gin, made using Tasmanian expertise and endemic botanicals fused with those from West Africa. Emeka created this blend to start a sensory journey that explores the essence of migration—its challenges and opportunities. In the immersive exhibition at Detached, you’ll taste the gin (and snacks) amidst a ‘symphony of intellectual conversations’ and music from an accompanying sound installation.
There’ll be a public marketing campaign—keep your eyes peeled on the streets of Hobart—and a very limited ballot-entry dinner in the exhibition space (ballot now closed).
Emeka will also be working with Mona's Executive Chef Vince Trim, adding West African flavours and dishes to Mona’s restaurants throughout the festival (where they’ll also be paired with the gin).
