What's a Mona Foma?

Ticket Information
Receiving Your Tickets

We'll email your tickets when the full program goes on sale.

Digital links will contain your Mona Foma tickets (and any upcoming Mona tickets, too).

To prevent scalping, your ticket QR codes will become available twelve hours before each event.

Each time you place an order, you'll receive a new link (and the old one will expire). Treat your link like an actual ticket—don't share it around.

Check the fine print for more information about each show. If you're having issues accessing your tickets, call +61 (3) 6277 9978, email, or see box office staff.

Refunds + Exchanges

No refunds or exchanges, unless applicable under Australian Consumer Law.

If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend Mona Foma. If you have booked tickets, call +61 (3) 6277 9978 or email (see our Terms and Conditions for more info).

Booking Fees

We charge a $6 booking fee per transaction. This fee is waived on some of our cheaper tickets.

Concession pricing applies to some Mona Foma events (marked clearly on the website). We accept healthcare cards, pension cards, seniors cards, Australian / international student cards, and concession travel cards. ID may be requested upon entry.

Under 18s

Events are all ages unless otherwise specified. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Proof of age may be requested upon entry. Under 2s are free on the knee to some Mona Foma events but will require a ticket.

Pass Outs + Lockouts

Pass outs are available at most Mona Foma venues. If you require a pass out, get a wristband or stamp from event staff before leaving the venue. Re-entry is always subject to capacity.

Some of our shows have lockouts. This means if you’re late, you’ll be permitted entry at a suitable break in the performance. Lockouts are clearly marked on tickets.

Reselling Your Tickets

If you aren’t able to attend an event, you can nominate to resell your tickets less the booking fee through the Ticket Resale & Refund Request Form. Please read the form for further details.

If there is a legitimate reason you can’t attend an event, please outline this in your resale form submission and your case will be reviewed for a refund in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

If you are selling Mona Foma tickets at a premium, we will cancel your order. And if you purchase a ticket from a third party, we can’t guarantee that the ticket will be valid, and you also lose all consumer rights—including the right to a refund (even if you have a valid reason). All tickets have a unique barcode that can only be used once (and can be cancelled by the powers that be, should you not play ball).

If you are trying to get tickets to a sold out event, your best bet is to keep checking the ticketing website for resales and join the waitlist (once available).

Mona Sessions

Mona Sessions are—in the grand Mona Foma tradition—a summery, eclectic showcase of bands playing in front of a lawn of some description. This year we're bringing them home to Mona.

Food and booze will be available to keep you sated, and we'd recommend coming out on the ferry, as parking is limited.

Old Tafe Sessions

As below, so above, but free: Old Tafe Sessions are a (free) summery, eclectic showcase of bands playing in the quadrangle of the old Tafe building in Launnie (now called ‘reUNIÓN district’). As well as the (free) evening acts, there’ll be a bunch of other stuff (art, performance, bits of music, almost all free) happening throughout the day at the Fantastic Futures exhibition, so you know. Get around it. It’s free (but you do still need to register for a ticket).

Food and booze will be available on site.

Food + Drink

Very much available. We’ll be flogging food and drinkies (boozy and non) at the Old Tafe and Mona Sessions, Book Club, The Party, and Bon Iver. Outside of that you’re on your own. No BYO. Bring your ID if you want booze.

We’re following advice from state and federal health authorities about how to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

Following a recent increase in cases the Tasmanian Government’s now recommends wearing a face mask in crowded indoor spaces and on Public Transport.

As always, do not attend Mona Foma events if you have a suspected or actual case of COVID-19. Please see our Terms and Conditions for more information. If you have any questions, please call +61 (3) 6277 9978 or email

Most of our venues are accessible, but some do have limitations. Check the relevant event page of our website for more information. If you have specific requirements, need further information, or have any feedback on accessibility at Mona Foma, please call +61 (3) 6277 9978 or email

Strobe warning

Some venues may contain strobe lighting, haze effects and intense volume. Events with these effects will be marked on the program, but please call +61 (3) 6277 9978 or email with any questions.

Companion Card

We offer companion card tickets to all Mona Foma events. These are available over the phone or at our box offices (opening closer to the festival). Please call +61 (3) 6277 9978 or email for more information.
